A bright, fresh tomato sauce made with farm-fresh ripe tomatoes cooked down into a simple, flavorful sauce. Easy to make and far superior to anything from a jar.
1tbspCrushed Pepper Flakes or Fresh Garden Jalapeños
Instructions
Gather all your ingredients and wash thoroughly.
Cut up the tomatoes, onions and begin heating stock pot on stove top.
Place your olive oil, onions and garlic in pot and sauté until mixture begins to caramelize.
Add your tomatoes and season with salt & pepper.
Cook at medium heat for about 20-35 minutes slowly stirring. Using a wooden spoon or slotted spoon while mixing you can begin to remove the tomato skins out of the sauce.
Once peels are removed, place stick mixer into sauce and grind up any tomato chunks, onions and garlic.
Once done add fresh basil and mix it into the sauce. Let it rest for 15 minutes in order for the flavors to combine before use. You will get a nice summer red color.
