A perfectly seared New York strip steak finished with a generous crumble of tangy blue cheese. Bold, rich, and deeply satisfying — a steakhouse-worthy dinner at home.
Gather ingredients and place a sauté pan on the stove and heat.
Rub steak with minced garlic, then and salt and pepper. Do this on both sides.
Get sauté pan hot and begin to sear steak.
If pan is very hot heat for about 6-8 minutes on one side. Add butter and turn over to sear other side.
Place pan in oven for 5-10 minutes. Depending on desired temperature wanted.
Pull steak add red wine and set aside. When ready to serve place blue cheese on top of steak put back oven for 5 minutes till cheese melts.
Place steak on plate, put pan back on stove add ½ tsp butter sauté to make sauce. Pour on top off steak and serve.
Notes
